How do we explain what the Camino meant to us? I think it will take some time to process. It is so indescribable because it's something that is different for every single person walking. It's a feeling deep inside, it's physically challenging, it's mentally challenging, and for others, it's a physical challenge to achieve. Some walk in remembrance of something or someone. It's a spiritual walk for others, in all forms of spirituality. It is a time to pause and reflect. We may be walking with other people, but we are still alone with our thoughts.

While attending a performance of Fado last night here in Porto, Portugal, it seemed to tie things together just a little bit. Amália Rodrigues, one of the greatest voices in the history of Fado, said, "What matters is feeling the fado. Because fado isn't sung, it's something that happens. Fado is felt, not understood or explained. I don't sing Fado....it sings in me."

“All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, a light from the shadows shall spring; renewed shall be blade that was broken, the crownless again shall be king.”
