The last few days have been tiring.

Logroño to Nájera was 29.8km/18.5mi:

The walk itself was one of the easiest as far as inclines and descents, but the distance walked was tiring and harder on the feet than previous days. We have seen some of the most amazing views on this journey, even though at times we'd like to give up. There are some moments that we just don't want to walk up one more steep incline and stress about the next very steep descent! As we walked last few kilometers/miles into Nájera, we could see the town in the distance and it seemed as if the town kept moving away from us the longer we walked and just when we thought we were in a grove to make it into town the lightening, thunder and craziest rain storm decided to change that groove. We were in the middle of a vineyard, and the water and mud just began to run over our shoes. It took us 45 minutes to get through the muddy fields into town. We were soaking wet, muddy, very tired, and hungry, but the weather made for additional challenges this day. The town was hit with hail and rain as well, which caused every restaurant in town to close because of flooding. They say that the Camino will provide, and this day, we were very thankful that the grocery store was open so that we could buy some food. The place we stayed in had a mini kitchen with a microwave and stove to make some food, a kettle to make hot water for some coffee, an oven that we opened and turned on to put our shoes on the door to dry aswell as warm up the place and a washing machine to clean our clothes.

“All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, a light from the shadows shall spring; renewed shall be blade that was broken, the crownless again shall be king.”
