Here we are in Astorga & it’s pouring rain. Sitting in a bar waiting for Celeste & ‘Dwin to find more rain covers.
Bars in Spain are such a safe haven where you can have a beer or espresso or tea or even something to eat. And always whatever you order, you will get something extra! Yesterday we ordered a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice and got also a slice of bread with pepperoni & cheese. Today I ordered hot tea & got a small cake. Also, no one brings you a tab—they just trust you will pay them before you leave. And NoTips!

Wherever you are there is phone service, good water & wonderful people!
We stayed in a beautiful apartment last night & I had the best rest I have had on the Camino !
Yesterday the walk here was extra special. Somewhere in the middle we came to an oasis. A man there had food & refreshment for the pilgrims all completely free. You could leave a donation if you were so moved. Such a good spirit there—would that the rest of the world could experience such love❤️
So the journey continues—the gifts are many!
