The best thing to find on the Camino is YOURSELF! Whether you are sad or happy, if you are feeling alone, or if you are tired and just want to sleep in, or maybe your feet or legs are hurting. Maybe you've had a rough night's sleep because the Albergue you just slept in was freezing, and you are thinking of the 24km/15mi you are about to walk today with only coffee and toast in your belly because there was no store open to by fruit or nuts and the next village is 11km/6.8mi away. The perseverance to move forward is hard to explain. Who typically walks 20km/12.4mi day after day after day in the rain and mud and wind? Every day, we dig deep within ourselves to find the inner strength to continue. We have our families and friends back home encouraging us every step of the way, and that in itself is the greatest motivator.
No one ever made it Santiago without the help of another.
