Sahagun to Calzadilla de los hermanillos

Very rainy muddy day!!! We stayed in a Hostel called Casa el Cura, that was most comfortable stay. For years priest lived the building we stayed in.

The town only has 85 people that live there in the summer months and in the winter there are only 3 families that live there because it is an older population and they go stay with family in the bigger villages. It was a spooky village to walk through in the evening. We saw absolutely no one! Everything in the hostel belonged to her family for generations. The dresses on the wall were crocheted by her great aunt and grandmother. The pasta they served for dinner was absolutely fabulous. Her husband was so funny and kept telling her that she was the most beautiful girl in the world!

“All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, a light from the shadows shall spring; renewed shall be blade that was broken, the crownless again shall be king.”
